turbo for feroza

Hi all I was just woundering how mutch more power I would get if I put a turbo on my 95 wide track & is it worth it ,as in cost to power to have it done. thanks graham

Started supercharging the roza and ran out of room when I had to move the engine for the automatic trans - so a turbo's the plan. ( Want a SC14 Blower/mount/drive system for a Feroza ?? )

A bit more fabrication on the workbench
Turbocharging is NOT a cheap option - lets look what has to be done if your going to run decent boost ( say 7PSI+ ). The figures are apprximate and are based on doing it PROPERLY with quality NEW parts not paying someone else to do it.
Turbo - $1500
Intercooler - $700 ( Air to water in my case, aux pump, radiator )
Pistons - $1250
Engine rebuild - $1000
New Radiator - $300 ( old one is too small for real power )
Oil cooler - $250
Engine management - $600 ( MegaSquirt running Spark and Fuel )
Fuel system - $500 ( pump, regulator, injectors )
Exhaust manifold Fabrication - $300
Exhaust -$500 ( Stock is way too small for turbo )
Silicone couplings, tube etc $200
etc etc....
You need to be able to do the tuning and timing maps for the new ECU, the wiring, plumbing etc etc otherwise it will cost a fortune to have done
And then theres the issue of clutch and the stock Feroza gearbox......
All in all its difficult to justify IMO UNLESS you plan on doing lots of other modifications or can get everything for free and have spare gearboxes.
With enough modifications it should be a quick Feroza

Why bother doing one yourself? Here is one that is completed and is up for sale:

Mr Enforcer custom intercooler and plumbing with quality silicon hoses and clamps
Battery relocated to boot
Straight cut custom made syncro gearbox
Oz Wheel 18 x 8 two piece rims with 255/45/18 Sumitumo tyres (as new)
Immaculate bodywork and paint
Plus much more and many spares!

Make a serious offer and you might have yourself one of the toughest feroza still running a HD-E 1600.

have had offers a little over 10K but the market is indicating a little more than what has been offered in my opinion.
dont really have to sell the car, but a present am not driving it very much. typical excuse = no time!
maybe someone else has more time on their hands to be able to enjoy such a wonderful, reliable, unique vehicle capable of suprising most vehicles on the road!

IMHO you're mad not taking $10k!
Realistically it would be worth half that if stock standard and with the mods you've done it won't appeal to the average Feroza buyer- nor will it appeal to the average performance car nut. A very limited market with a very hard to insure vehicle.
Is it all engineered with paper work for the mods?

Its all engineered as is (minus airfilter) and very insurable, its currently insured through OAMPS and valued at $18,500.00.
Its unique and you will be surprised how many people are impressed by the thing, both in condition and performance.
The turbo is newish as it was upgrade mid last year ($2,600 there) has a custom made gearset for the internals of the std case ($5,500 installed there). There is already $8,100 without the rest! See why its worth more than 10K

still havnt blown my gearbox.
chatto, my turbo conversion is very budget and home made. running a t25 @ 4.5psi into everything stock. no ecu, injectors etc change. while the fuel consumption is somewhat more than i would like the extra power while out on the sand or the hi-way makes it worth it. i know with some aftermarket management i could extract a little more power and quite possibly better the fuel economy. will probably look into a megasquirt for it someday.

Tufferoza / Mig - are you using fabricated exhaust manifolds, or it there something out there ?
To be honest fabricating from scratch is a pita so have to ask.

The exhaust manifold was made by yours truly and tacked together, then sent off for prpfessional welding.
It is made up of 1'3/4' steam pipe mandrel bends, all equal length.

I'm impressed, that would be my goal. Do you have any pics of it - inspiration always helps
