I have a feeling GQ series 1 and 2 used different lubes in the x/fer

Series 1 GQ's (the ones with the blinker/tail light/reverse light up in the body and don't have the stupid bumper-ette lights) run 75W90 diff oil in them.
Series II Transfer cases (the ones with dummy lights in the body and the blinker/brake lights in the bumpers) run a ATF fluid, the Gregorys manual i have says that DexII ATF fluid, so i have DexIII in it cause u can't get DexII anymore, anyway DexIII is better.

they are both exactly the same transfer case, nothing what so ever is different. it was to do wuth oil thickness causing the 4wd bits to move even in 2wd

yeah but i am using what is recommended, and the series II transfer case doesn't have a a sub gear for anti backlash on the countershaft
