Battery Monitor - any experiance

greetings all
i am looking at running a Battery Monitor on my battery to enable me to keep track f the condition on the battery & so i can see what is being draw from the battery whilist it is in use

i have found these units & am interested to hear if any body here has used it or something similar to it

For a boat of house setup its a good idea... For a 4wd ..? I dont think its of any benefit. IMO

great idea, but costly - could buy a couple of extra batteries for that! May be the better option is to install a smart relay device.

thanks guys

i am thinking of useing this in a Trailer

the Trailer will have 12 Volt lighting inside alon with a 12 Volt TV

i want to be able to monitor the Battery condition

all help appreciated

I’ve always heard good things about Derek’s products, he post regularly on the Exploroz forum and I’m sure he would answer any questions if you post there.
Personally I’ve had mixed luck with battery monitors, a rather expensive monitor from the US was a complete failure, their not always accurate if your drawing a lot of amps.

I would be looking at one of these products as they will cut out at either 10.5 or 11.8 (selectable) ensuring you don't damage your battery by draining it too low.

thanks for the reply guys

i am more interested in a unit that will let me know what is left in the batteries like the unit that i had posted in my original post

i dont need to worry about a cut off as these batteries are not used for starting a vehicle

this is for a camper style trailer / transporter
