Thinking of driving up from Melbourne....is it worth it?? as in is it set up for spectators to see alot of stages or are they out and away for the test's and are hard to find if your taking different route than competitors???

I'd be looking at Cliffhanger.. MUCH cheaper, and everything is on one property instead of 400klms apart.

from all reports take heaps of water and a rain jacket as it is always one extreme or the other
But yes am told not the most flowing event and miles apart each stage and nearly imposible to follow if say you had a mate competing......
As long as you could get the heads up on the most entertaining sections to watch and have a big crew there to swill some piss and you might be ok...
Would be what you make it but just as for most big events a bit slow...
2 hrs at winch challenges at cruiser and i was over it but whatever floats your boat.... and there is some nice trucks and big horse power driveline crushers heading down so might be worth a look..

Been a spectator at the previous 2 years and many other events and i would suggest looking at cliffhanger or another event , as spectators are not looked after at all .
Also in my personal opinion it would have to be the most overpriced and worst organised event there is .

I've been to both events, without a doubt Cliffhanger is a miles better spectator event, from both a viewing point and a social point. At Cliffhanger you can camp in one spot and have a well sorted camping area, you get catered for with great food and a get to hang out with other like minded crew and chat with competitors and check out the rigs. Cliffhanger all the way. OBC is a good, but not worth the $$.
