why isn't my rd2.8td starting when hot ??

hopefully someones had this problem b4 . my 96 gq 2.8 td is getting harder to start when hot. it i've tested both glow relay's even cleaned the contacts tested all glow plugs all dead short as there meant to be..
replaced the injectors and now thinking its a injector timing or valve problem has been dyno tuned and all was well any idea's ?????????????
please help someone must have had this prob there's a carton on offer...

Yep, it's the injector pump wearing, you'll need to get an advance plate from Nissan that'll cost you around $60 including a new o ring.
That'll be a carton of Tasman for the diagnosis.

Rip the car in to Motsons @ moorooka. they will supply and fit the mod plate for around the $60 mark. I had mine done and then managed to pick up a pump with 66,000km on it so the modded one has become a back up.

i have looked into this plate before its only for the GU electronic injection the GQ is mechanical. so im told .. and the problems not solved yet so dont bother cleaning out the fridge just yet..

i guess motsons sounds like go im heading done that way to put the truck on the ramp on sat might try call in ...

okk i've been thinking and since everbody said its an advance plate that i need and i m pretty shore thats for GU ive started playing with the tuning since mines mech inj . i advanced the fuel pump timing (while running) until it started to sound like sh!!t then went back a little .. im currently testing and sofar so good fingers crossed so ill bye me a box then hay

I have a 2.8 gq inj pump at my place if you want to swap and give it a go for a week or so. you are welcome to try it if you want to do the swap over.make me an offer if is good and of use to you. it came of a good truck. i am in maroochy.
only the first roll hurts, then its a ride..

at the moment ("while it still run's") im trying to find & fix the problem and if i don't i should have a better understanding of every little bit of the 2.8 by the sounds of it im going to have a few "issues".. you might hear from me shortly if i crack the ships... fingers crossed ....
my mate had a 4.2 he used for winch challanges and warned me not to go near the 2.8 so now i have to get it cranking or cop it ..

to easy. we probably have seen each other about. mine is the purple gq wagon. we will be leaving for the allterrain at cruiser 2morrow lunch so prob see you out there if you are going.say gday if you are out. good luck.
