Gday, a mate of mine bought a diahatsu/toyota thing and needs all the info I can get on it. Any links or least a name for the bugga would be good.
It is a 3 door looks a bit like a a LJ80 with the rounded door bottoms. and sloped bonnet. It has a toyo 1600,4sp and decent looking diffs in it. Meant to run 16x6 rims as well by the type placard. Can't see any Vin plates on it also.
could also be a badge enginered toyota buzzard/blizzard maybe.
cheers

http://members.iinet.net.au/%7Ebebop1/index.html to see my yellow beast or a red scat with a nissan 3l six from a 300zx hope you get the bug!

Ok, It is a Dai with the 12r motor. I guess it is a F20.
Whats the difference between the F??'s.
Just wondering what diffs, gbox, transfer it has in it?
Thinking of transplanting a toyo 22r+hilux gbox+xfer.
cheers

The model your mate has would be an F10, you stated in your pm that it was a 1977 model, this would have the one piece steel moulded grille surround (with square grill insert), and vertical breather slits on the panels in front of the doors. You prolly have relay rod steering also. Some the later F20's had crossover steering.
Most F20s had chrome headlight surrounds and seperate steel grilles, and horizontal breather slits.
The later model Blizzards had a plastic moulded grill/headlight surround, and black plastic wheel arch flares.
Gearbox ratios:
1 - 3.707
2 - 2.167
3 - 1.513
4 - 1.000
R - 4.434
L - 2.407
H - 1.382 (F10)
Diff ratios 5.571
I have workshop manuals for the F20, not a lot of changes though between the 10's and 20's, just diff ratios and a few other body details. I even have a Parts catalogue for the 70-79 models.

afaik they were specifically designed for this model, no one I have spoken to has said 'Oh yeah, they are just a dana 14' or whatever.
Forgot to add there will be DAIHATSU stamped into the grille surround.

Mate of mine has Bundera diffs and links under his F20, and has just put in a 2LT from a surf. This thing hammers...
Do you want it legal or not?
Only reason for the bundy gear was the offset transfer matched the bundy rear, and the ease of install with the bundy cast arms. Fully road legal on QLD roads - totally approved.
