GU Dash drops out with headlights on

I have a problem with my GU ST ute at the moment which is making me pull my hair out. Sometimes when you turn the lights on after a few minutes all gauges stop working as though you have turned the key off. Speedo and tacho will sometimes stop where they are when it happens, Other times they drop to zero. If you turn the lights off they all come good again within a few minutes.

Ive tried getting wiring diagrams out of Nissan before but they wouldnt give them to me. I have already removed the cluster, resoldered the joints, cleaned and tightened terminals. I have also tried removing the instrument fuse with the car running to see if it is losing power on that circuit, but it doesnt act the same. Im really stuck without a wiring diagram and the problem is really starting to annoy me.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what a cause would be? Or where the earth points for the cluster are?

Do you have aftermarket driving lights & wiring fitted to your vehicle?? Does the problem only happen when your lights are on high beam & the driving lights are working? If so I would be checking the driving light wiring as this in the most common fault for this

Ok got it sorted out, sent it to a gauge specialist and they have tested everything. There was a crack in the board or something where the power supply was for the gauge control module. Crack opens up = Ute with no gauges. Glad its finally sorted. PM me if anyone wants to know who fixed it for me
