4 or 5k sounds a bit rich to me ive been told about 3850 but then you get 2 gs back off the gov. Apparently you get 20-30% better economy depending on the way you drive. after i get my suspension sorted i will most likely be getting gas if the rebate is still around, at this stage i will probably get a system from diesel gas technology or d gas, dgt is infront by a nose at the moment. I reckon you should go for it and tell me what its like!

im no expert but you would probably be able to work out roughly how long it would take to pay for itself. One website i looked at said 100000ks but i guess it depends alot on how you drive

I was ready to spend the money, and with a business vehicle, no govt rebate. Decided to try water injection first at $400, and see how that goes with economy and power... do a google search on water injection and sus it out.

Is the vehicle registered in the business name or in your name. If it is not actually registered in the business name then you can still get the rebate.

Had a mate convert his TD42t was very dissapointed although it seemed to pull slightly better on steep hills, in his opinion he would never consider it if he could go back

ive heard the same coment once before 1patrol, i cant understand the concept do they actualy cut down the flow of diesel when the gas is added or do the just pile both fuels in together hoping the extra bang of octane with the gas allows you to use less throttle to do the same KPH thus using slightly less diesel fuel or what is the story and how does it effect you turbo it must raise heat issues surely....cheers

i have it on my gu and have found it has worked well.
the cost for me has worked out well as i now (many mods later) have good power with less pump mods and a small turbo .
So a little about my car to put it in purspective,it was a non turbo so it only has a 10mm head in the fuel pump (still has) and i only run a t4 garret at 15psi boost .
i have added a boost compensator to the pump and intercooler ,with all that it was dynoed with 37" tyres and made 120rwkw's and 830 mn .
there are bigger dyno figures around (bigger turbo more boost ect)but i stuck with this setup as its better for towing and makes power in the lower rpm's
there are a lot of myths about it so i will tell you some of the results i have found with my car on a dyno .
first it is more of a power upgrade than a fuel saver ,i use 4l/100ks less diesel but use that in gas so the savings are $4/100ks
power results were 15-20rwks with the gas (we ran both gas on and off)
it DID hold a lower temp with the gas on and was around 2' less and holding (with out gas temp was still trying to climb) both myself my mech was suprissed as we though this temp claim was a myth.
off road and towing has been greatly improved as it has a lot more pull in the lower rpms and will even accelerate up hill
as far as cost after the rebate its about $2000 to gain 15-20kw's (not bad value) and has since saved me from spending a further $1000 on the fuel pump as i was able to retain a smaller rotor .
so in my case i have found it good and it has been worth it but different setups in different cars will have different results ,thats why i have given only my own results (no myths or hear say)
i hope this helps you

was 120rwkw with gas on? that seems fairly respectable. i have a td42t running 14psi boost, no intercooler, just pump adjustments and 3in exhaust...makes 96rwkw on 35's. no gas. im interested in getting gas. what system did you use?
you mentioned something about temps...are these exhaust gas temps? can you elaborate some more. where was the probe located. before and after differences.
cheers

Zill is that 3" zorst all the way or from the turbo back. and does it have any drone noise effect and did it help economy....???

yes 120 with the gas on intercooled ect , on the dyno on 37' muds .as for the system i used
http://www.dieselgas.com.au/home.htm
since fitting mine i have been told of improvements (more power less gas)
temps were taken after the turbo ,normal fitting for an EGT gauge
I will add though tuning is important as i had the gas fitted about 12months before intercooler/pump mods and an egt and while i am happy with the gas and the power it makes the originall tuning was RS and had to much fuel and massive egt's but once it was tuned and every mod was set to complement as a hole its great now

i am over in sunshine way off ballarat road we do general engineering, plant alterations, and custom built trailers for tradies, marque suppliers(fairs & field days and so on) race car,bob cats and so on the usual trailer makers employ monkeys that can only fabricate bulk cheep quantities of general trailers so thats where we saw a bit of a market. they ring them and send them on to us..
