Gday all

just building up a front diff for my 4runner and i need to know another way to center the knuckle on the axle housing, as in the amount of lower shims required, i cant afford the 300 dollar special service tool. how does every one else do it?

cheers

If you have access to machining equipment and expertise the tool isn't too hard to replicate - just a little thinking required.

IIRC the preload is another slight problem (if you're going from the toyota workshop manual) assuming you've only got a spring-scale (fish scales), as opposed to the torque measuring SST thing-a-mi-bob.
