Bushwacker flares

Post by McGyver »

hi all quick question for those of you with these flares. because i can not see a set untill i actually get them delivered to see how they fit up. i was wondering about how ppl fitted them. did you cut out the original spot welded on bracket for the old stock P.O.S flares or not

thanks everyone

I put TJ flares on my WT sierra and removed the original flares and cut the mounting brackets off.
I then ground it all smooth and Tec screwed the TJ flares on from the outside but the screws are hidden inside the flares.

I am currently installing a set of the Bushwacker flares which Rocky Road does for the Samurai.
You have to unscrew the little standard flares from the mounting bracket. Once you do that, you then need to drill out the bracket which is riveted to the body (although I guess you could leave it, and adjust the placement of the bushwackers accordingly)
The flares come complete with tape, screws to mount to the body.

Here are my flares.

I had a 1 litre tub so I had no flare removal to deal with. I just marked the holes for the flares and shot some nutserts into the panels. You will need lux diffs or BIG offset wheels to fill them tho.

Bushwackers do look tits but they are too damn pricy for my liking. If I was to get some they would officially be the most expensive part of the zook. Including the actual car itself. :D

Luckily mine came with wrangler flares so I guess I'll just use them even though Im not partial to their looks. Form comes second to function though when it comes to the zook.
