Sierra rear diff oil amount?

I searched the bible with no luck. The castrol catalogue says 1.3litres but i'm not sure on that.

I changed the front and rear diff oils today, using epx80/90. last weekend i got stuck in a boghole (with no diff breathers)and my rear diff has been noisey this week :P

Well the front diff took 1.9-2litres. the rear i put approx 1.6litres in. reason is: the filler bolt was stripped and i ended up filling the diff through the breather hole (almost 1 hour later!). So since i wasnt able to see the oil overflow out the filler hole, i'm not sure i've put the right amount back in. It drained out about 1.6litres of browny/black oil+metallic paste+mud.

The diff is noisey still, so im Hoping it's maybe low on oil..any ideas?

If i've wrecked this diff its getting welded next week

if the filler plug is stripped try welding a nut to it so you can undo it easily/properly in the future...

1.3l for rear diff is correct.
Welding the centre won't fix the noise.. that is the crownwheel and pinion that you have worn the hardfacing off by running water instead of oil.

thanks for the help everyone :)

If this diff is destined for a reco, then i'll have a play around with it in the mean time ;)
