Hey Guys,

i have a 4" lifted 80 series and need to put the double cardin joint in the front tailshaft.

I am just wondering as to which Hilux's and 4runners had the correct Double cardin in it that i need to modify.

I had one but it was farked.

If you could let me know that would be great.

Cheers Ben

i read some where that the early 60's had a more suitable DC in them, and that the hilux ones are like the rest of the hilux.........

oh and why do you need a DC in it? i know of people running a lot more lift and not needing them?

why do u need dc in front. i have 5" lift no need for dc in 80 series. do u have castor correction plates if not go that way u wont need dc also running 37" pro comps and body lift

once i fitted the castor plates to mine it needed a double cardin, It vibrated like nothing else! People do fit part time kit, but this is just covering up the problem, i fitted the both, so even when driving up the beach its not vibrating me something stupid.

yeah i have a full time 4wd..... the sound wasnt there and i have fitted caster plates.

alot of 80 constant AWD's need DC when going over 4" lift. its about a 4-5" lift in mine.

pull the shaft out, lock centre diff and go for a driver, atleast will narrow the vibration down, 5spd 60's have DC, not 4spd red 60's in montrose :(

I needed one with a 4inch lift drop boxes and perfect castor
I had no vibes at all.
my problem was backlash in the transfer case.

Have not had any problems since it was fitted.

Mine came from the rear tailshaft of a dual cab 89 lux, the front 60 d/c is wrong size, the front lux is also wrong size....any d/c on a lux rear two piece shaft fits front 80 with a length shorten...
