its probably something really simple that i cant figure out how to do

i can get up to step 9 but after that i cant figure it out.
so far i have got it to TDC and adjusted the inlet valves but when i go to adjust the exhaust valves i should do all 4 when number 4cyl is at TDC?? :? :?

the way i am doing it there is always one valve that has no adjustment in it.
(either 2 or 3 exhaust)

what am i doing wrong?

Set up as in step 4, then follow 15.5 in the top right hand corner, once that is done rotate the crank a further 360 degrees and do the other valves.

Hope that helps

You're blindly following incorrect instructions?

Dzltec is right. Set crank to TDC, do all the valves which have movement (should be 4 of them - any more or less is  .) Rotate 360 degrees & repeat.

ALL the rockers need to be done from scratch... it was all removed when it broke so im using 8 new rockers.

i probably shouldnt have touched the exhaust rockers  as they didnt break.

Just checking - All the cam caps look the same but the rear most one has an extra hole in it for an oil feed. Did you notice that and get it in the right place?

I didn't and found out the hard way.

Different instructions for different engine.

So in your instance, you would set number one cylinder with both cam lobes facing upwards. Then you can adjust both of them, plus 2 more lobes will be facing upwards. Then rotate crank 360 so the back two lobes are upwards, then do the other two that havent been done.

If you still arent able to do it, get someone who does, as you may cause more trouble than its worth.

the last cap didnt break so i didnt have to change it

the 3 in the middle have a square end and the last one is rounded.
