different class of tyre.
the Goodyear wrangler MTR isnt actually a mud tyre. The buckshot mudder, strangely enough, is.
The buckshot is also the older tyre in maxxis' range. it has been replaced by the bighorn which is a superior tyre all round to the buckshot.
so can the mtr and buckshot be compared? not really.

Have tried the Buckshot, and they were crap, now run MTR's (3rd set) and fairly happy with them.
If going Maxxis, go for the Bighorns

depends what you plan to do with them. In nsw the mtr is loved, but they have sandstone mountains for gods sake- in vic if you're up in the hills you find real mud and they clog up fast. BFG muds are better in mud but slippery as hell on the black stuff. I really like Coopers for their mud and road skills, but they cost more. No such thing as a perfect tyre.

do they still make buckshots ????
ive had a few 33'' muddy's and currently have bighorns .which are doing fine probly middle of the range as far as niose on road grip and the wear isnt as bad as mtrs. offroad i have no complants at all as normal you need a fare bit of power to clear sticky mud . normally second low at full rpms gets you moving again and keep em clear ...
my mate has mtr's he love's them off road but good luck talking to him when he's driving on black top..
BFG's not to bad got 60 000 ks out of em , up there in the list but don't drive in the wet !!! or do it was fun ..
STT's are great on road, very little noise, average wear, gripped well but arent aggressive (sometimes a good thing ) . probly wouldn't buy em again because of the size. brand new it was smaller than my bald bfg's
so there you go if you want grip buy PEDS if you want long ks buy AT's
or pic some in the middle go for a ride in mates cars n see wat u like
