ARE 2.0L non grand vitaras always Rare and overpriced? $11k!

Post by drifta »

I'm trying to find a 2L efi smaller (non grand) 3 door vitara, but they seem to be really hard to find and overpriced (at least in Perth)... there is one 1998 for sale for $11k this week, but nothing last week..

the crazy thing is that I could get a v6 or 4cyl grand vitara for cheaper (though im thinking about fuel economy)

Is this a normal price for this kind of car?

what should I expect to pay for a 2L 3dr small vitara?
what should I pay for a v6 grand vitara?

im thinking 1997 - 1999 models

I think that there were some jap imports of these models.....
found a 3door 1.6L efi vitara =) pm me for 4x4ing around perth

Yes the 2l vits are hard to find but they seam to come out in waves

the 2L vit is a awsome vehicle and it is worth while payng a bit extra as it will be better for you down the track, most came with no airbags so you can make up your own front bar and body lift it with no troubles from transport.

i would pay from $7000 to $11000 but at that price i would expect it to have a few extras and the resale on the 2L seams to be better as not every man and his dog has one.

i have seen a 2L grand vitara softtop ( now thats rare!! )

ok man, thanks for the update.. yeah the one for sale was a soft-top, but at 11K it seems a bit highly priced, it seems that those particular models had a different bodyshape too.. like a newer looking body.

I'm reluctant to pay top dollar for the car, because I know how I like to treat my 4x4s once I get them and feel guiltily skratching up and banging up and nearly rolling a mint condition car. =)

im also pondering the LWB 2.0L v6 as they seem to be more common, but i have no need for the extra doors and car size and think the 2door ones look cooler.. though the lwb ones will probably be smoother because of the wheelbase.

is it easy to put a 2.0L v6 into an average old 89 model 3door vitara I wonder.. hmmm..
