Solid axle hilux steering question???

Post by ausyota »

My brother in law is fixing up his lux and had to put in new bearings in the swivle hubs and a few other jobs too.
He has found that the ball in the end of the steering rod connected to the steering arm on the drivers side is all flogged out and he was wondering if you can get that out and just replace the ball or do you need to buy the whole assembly?

Sorry if I sound like I dont know what Im talking about but I havnt had much to do with solid front hiluxs only crappy IFS  .
Paul.

You mean the J arm? shaped like a J and mounts on top of the swivel hub. Get a newy from the wreckers, especially if he already has the assembly apart.
Built, not bought.
