Speak to the certifying agency in your state. I believe nylon is acceptable in QLD but it is not acceptable in VIC.

Steel crush tube will punch through floor/mount.
Use ally or steel block.

best to use acetal rod from Eplas at Underwood, QLD DOT requires that a steel crucsh tube be used. (even though the acetal rod will do the job fine)

And if you use solid metal crush tube not req. As I posted above Ive seen damage from crush tubes, the plastic flexes enough to make the tube wiggle and it pushes thru floor and mount.
The surface area is not large enough on tube alone.

Dont use nylon it flexs way to much ,i saw a GQ with 50mm nylon blocks pull the steering coupling of the steering box it moved that much which is why plastic is illegal .

Didn't look what it was for but in GQs you need 3 inch diameter blocks as 2 inch ones crack floors and chassis mounts. I vote forget the body lift and cut the guards.

I'm not going to come in here and say that very plastic is suitable for body lift material BUT there are products / materials that do the job as good as steel or alloy. Engineering plastics have come a long way and the number of different compounds that are available is almost endless and a number of those have been used in applications far more severe then anything a 4WD under 5,000kg can ever endure.
Queensland Transport have approved these materials so to say they are illegal is plain wrong and misleading.
Yes the lifts I sell are made from these materials so yes I have a festered interest in stating their case but this also comes for my experience so if I didn't think they were appropiate for the application I wouldn't use them.
