Oil Pressure Readings

What kg/cm² is everybody reading on their dash gauge for oil pressure.
With new motor and everything running "Sweet" I am still only reading a tad over 2 kg/cm².
I realise the oil pressure sender units are notorius for dying slowly but I would like to see what others are reading before I go and get a replacement unit.

Mine is sitting right on the bottom peg...oh wait, I still don't have my engine back in yet!
Before I tore it down, with leaky valve seals, etc, it would go to 4 or so until it warmed up, and then back down where yours sits, with not a hell of a lot of movement, even at higher rpms... sending unit was suspect, but the new truck will have a mech guage, so no worries...

Mine sits on the bottom peg cause the guys who did the last service(motorcare 4wd) ripped the sender wire off and i haven't had a chance to get under and reattach it. Not to mention the starter motor they "apparently" cleaned and charged me for which is the same as the day i took it in.

Jeez - use guys are useless.
1 - no motor
2 - no wire
Who's gunna be number 3 - no oil

My engine, 6g72 fresh rebuild with manual pressure gauge, runs about 40-60 psi when on the gas pedal depending the rpms. At idle when the oil is hot it runs about 13 psi. At startup it peaks at just under 100psi, and then works its way down to what seems to be its normal operating range.
I dont know if this is what is "should" be, since this was my first rebuild, but so far my engine has 20K on it, and runs like a champ.

Thanks guys.
Looks like the gauges are next to useless.
Might replace it a bit furhter down the track as I have a 12 month warranty on the motor after the rebuild and the guys who did the work ensure me there was nothing wrong with the internal oil pump (said it looked almost new).
I'm confident the pressure is good just don't wanna go through the process of rebuilding another engine. (Power gains were worth the $$$)

Why dont you get a manual gauge. They are cheap, even CHEAPER when compared to another rebuild. Mine works 10x better than the factory gauge ever did.

Because I like to keep my car to factory specs..
Yep... might be a better option.
Will look into it further when i get back from holidays.

My Oil pressure has been reading really high of late
When I went to Bathurst for WERock I noticed it and assumed that it was cuz of the freezing cold temperature.
I think it went back down to normal for a while when I was back at home (I don't remember)
The last couple of days the gauge has been right up near the high end just driving to and from work
Is the sender bizzo dead ?

Yeah mine sits low as well.
Around 10psi when at idle, but goes up with revs......which is the important bit

Yep mines the same as Daryus.
Because they are electronic they are always going to be slow compared to a direct mechanical reading. I do know the sensors slowly become less sensitive (responsive) with age and I know guys who have replaced them with new items and got the responsiveness back.
