sector shaft damage

Post by 92mav »

just reparing my gq power steer box as it was bleeding out as fast as i could put it in. What i have noticed is the spline on the sector shaft is twisted. Would you put it back in or just get a new box.

Get a replacement late model style box. One of the nissan guys will be able to tell you the difference. The early ones were prone to twisting sector shafts. They usually break not long after they twist. I wouldnt re-use the twisted one.
