Go and look at this one-
http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... 403#172403 Needs a motor and a little work but is set up realy well.
Will be a lot cheaper than $27g when finished.

I think it has about 240k on it and apparently in excellent condition.
Thanks Ruff I actually did go and look at Neil Lennards truck and it is just way too modified for what I want. Have you seen it?? It is a fucken work of art!!! there is sooooo many hours of work just in the tray and front bar it is unbelievable! The chassis at the rear has a wild cut job on it.
It has a five link on the front too that I would be worried about.
The tray doesn't suit me either (I know I could probably get it without tray or sell tray but is pita at the moment.) and last of all it is way too high!!!
The interior is very competion orientated also
That truck is really set up for competion and I want more tour style if that makes sense.
If someone wanted to do an outback challenge or winch challenge though all you would have to do is bolt in a motor and off you go.You would be taking huge risk driving it on the road a lot cause DOT would eat you alive even with the engineers certs.
I was blown away by it lots of dollars worth for 15k!!!

Don't know about the price, but in Queensland any body lift must be inspected by Qld Transport, and a certificate issued. If he can't produce the certificate I'd cconsider walking, because you are supposed to get approval to modify BEFORE you lift it - if the dept. works out its already lifted I don't know how difficult they would get.
At the very least knock him down for the work (time?) required to get the certificate.

This is no problem because its still only a relitivly new law so there are still a lot of rigs with BL that have never been certified. They are just inspecting them as they come in.
Remember BL never used to need a mod plate at all.

Yeah the body lift could be a bargining tool in this case. I had thought of that. Roadworthys don't mean shit to me cause I know a lot of people get em on things that are very suss
There is no doubt in the world that Neils truck is worth a lot more than 15 but it is just not suited to me at the moment.
The five link would be 'engineered' so to speek but transport would still have a field day with it i believe and the rear end set up and the chassis mods. Imagine when you go to get it registered and they ask to see the truck at the DOT! They would shit ha ha ha
If anyone is considering a weekend/comp warrior I would give Neil a ring though cause by the time you put a motor in it you will probably have a 40 grand plus truck!!!!!

Yeah the utes are far more expensive than the wagons. That is why I was originally (still may I am not sure) going to get a wagon and chop it into a ute cause it would end up similar $ but I would get a space cab set up and new paint etc.
BUT There is the extra costs of tray and all the bullshit that always pops up that you didn't expect.
I think this truck is pretty well what I want all I would need to do is hook up a locker or two and away I go.
I am really after something that is more legal and could be converted back to legal easily. Coils are good for this leafs are not!
Will see how it goes anyway.
I have time so it is

This may be dumb question and I will probably get shot down in flames but what is the difference between a gq ute and a gq cab chassis???
Yeah the red book is a bit suss. The main reason I was going to get a wagon and cut it was because the utes are so expensive!!!
They have fuck all room in em too!

Like a Rodeo Ute, you can get the flat tray style, or one with fixed sides... Same as a commodore ute, 2 options.

Well I went and looked at this ute on the weekend and after some serious thought I made an offer of 25k.
It was settled upon pending a full mechanical inspection.
It has a few scratches in the paint (I think they will buff out) but is otherwise pretty good. The main thing is it has everything like winch and cool dual battery set up and best of all turbo diesel etc that I want and if I was to buy a ute even a cheep one (no such thing!!!!) it would cost more than this to set up to this level.
If the inspection is all good then I am a proud new nissan owner. If not I am pissed! lol
I know it could use some new injectors and a tune and prolly a new exhaust (has 3" mandrel bent but is a bit shaged) but seemed to go ok. I drove a non turbo diesel the other day and fuck me I don't know how people can do it. So slow! turbo makes a big diff.
Anyway I am going to look at a air/water intercooler and oil cooler from ARE cooling in Brendale then get the whole show tuned to suit.
It got bfg muds on it too which I hate and will change also
I really hope the mechanical inspection turns out ok!!!!

It's called a 7# series cruiser. No such animal in the Nissan GQ stable.
