cookiemonster-jr's Sierra Build Thread

All,

Thought id best finish what was started last year.
As part of a school project, my daughter(Hailey) has been remodeling a 1988 SWB WT Sierra. As an introduction i have copied the info that was posted in the 'Pics of your rig', so it gives you an idea of what she wanted to achieve.
The project is nearing completion, so i thought it best to start posting the build info and pics. This will culminate with the revealing of the finished product on the 28th June(same time as we reveal the car to all our friends).
I have tried to get Hailey to do as much as she could and must admit, she has been very keen to get stuck in and do the work(not bad for a 14/15 year old!)

Hope you all enjoy the build and feel free to comment :)

Looks good, and should be better when finished somthing to take pride in.
Its great to see kids getting out there and learning, I always felt learning basic maintenance and how your car works helps you become a safer driver.
Dont want to talk to my 14yr old do you??

Awesome work mate. You're going to break a lot of boys hearts (after you tell them no, you won't help them rebuild their rear diff on the weekend).

Keep at it!

Good stuff and you just spray the paint on and it goes into all the different shades of camo pink.....? :D

On a good note I built up my BJ40 with my Dad at 15 and then later my Hilux4x4 good learning and bonding experience to share with each other. Only I wish I drove my Hilux out of the paint shop when it was done cos he reversed straight out into a metal pole and put its first scratch and dent in it on the tail gate..... :?

Good build thread, progress action pics are the go! Very impressed with your enthusiasm. This will be a very cool lil' zook

I'm with Jono on the thongs bit, may be wear some shoes in case you drop a ratchet or a shifter Hailey- you'll only do it once and that'll be enough.
It's about as fun as welding/grinding in board shorts :onfire:

Keep up the good work!

Mike ;)
