as the fj45 only came with transfer handbrake(i think) and thats gone now having fitted a 5 speed i need a handbrake cable to reach the rear 60 diff that im fitting
unfortunatly the 60 cable was chopped by the po so i cant see if its long enough
anyone got any ideas on a standard cable that will fit into a fj45 troopy

A 60 cable is about your only option, unless you get a custom one made. Probably close the right length too both are from LWB wagons.

could you get one for a hj45/47? wouldn't they be about the same length? did they come with handbrake on the rear with the 5spds? for 81 models and onwards?

did 75 series come with rear axle or transfer mounted handbrakes?
i got a suspicion that a 60 cable won't be long enough. i could measure mine for you some time in the next couple of days.

NO!
still on t-case
use a 60 or 75 one! either will go, its just a matter of where you mount the brackets etc.
OH... if you're truck has the firewall handbreak, (as in comes through the firewall (pre79) use a hilux cable from an early 80s hilux.

But what about the width across the diff? A 73 cable wont fit a 60 diff width ways but is fine for length

the cable only runs to one side of the diff, with a joiner going to the other brake, so i'm sure you could make it work by moving the joiner etc.

they are all the same mate, it pulls on one side, then you can join on the 60 or 75 series piece to connect to the other brake...
piss easy
