just looking at where to put my radiator, if i run it under the tray, will i need a eletric water pump to go with the mechanical one???

the motor is 100kw 4age and the radiator is of a EL falcon

Yeah, I'm fairly sure you'd need one inline to assist flow to the back of the car, and through the radiator and back again.

While I am no expert (and I hate people guessing the answer to others questions just to boost their post count) I would think there may be conflicting flow rates with miss matched pumps.
if pump #1 flows 100 litres per minute and pump #2 only flows 50, in a sealed cooling system that has to be a problem.

thats true..
i was putting some thought into takeing the fins off the standard pump and just reling on the eletric.. but not all that keen on that idea!

Drill a few 4mm holes in the thermostat, this will prevent the electric pump from cavitating. Also, with moving the radiator to the rear you may have issues with purging all the air out of the system, look at where your high points are and consider adding bleeder lines to a higher point.

The davies craig electric pumps are excellent, my old man has one on his 1927 dodge to replace the engine driven pump due to fitiing a later engine to it, at cruise it doesnt need to run at all.

just rely on the elctric, the 4age opens up that much more without the factory water pump it's insane

I only run the standard water pump on my 1uz and I run a rear mounted rad, have no problems at all with it.

I ran a v6 com with a rear mount RR radiator with the standard pump
no probs -- as stated by tt6 removing all air from the system is more the issue.

As long as you run the lines correctly and have them like U and not a W (I`m talking as if you took a side cross section of you rig and pipes) its easy to get all the air out if you have a bleed point at the 2 highest points in the system.
If you have no choice but to have a W effect then have a 3rd bleed point at the other high point.
