Gudday.
can use the GT3271 no worries but be aware that its a floating shaft none water cooled model. I was gunna use the same one but decided to go for the 3071R as it will spool quicker. if you havent done the pump perhaps a GT2860R is better suited? The boys on this site (coxy) have just done a bulk buy of the above mentioned unit and could point you in the right direction.
Good luck.

Thanks guys and yeah for my TD42...one day soon, still doing my homework. I 've been watching Coxys thread with interest and would have been in if I had the $ ready. Still unsure about buying a trubo only as you then need to get evertyhing else! Possibly cheaper to get a kit like coxys deal then you get everything.

So can someone explain to me what the difference is between the turbo's GT3271, 3071R & GT2860R i.e. do the numbers have any specific relevance? I gather they are all suitable for a big 6cyl? are they rated for different hp outputs?

yes, and yes with actuator supplied, add $20 for T28 gasket kit and $34 for a oil feed fitting. just need to mod water feed lines and fabricate custom brackets for 'low mount' position...hope there's room!
