How do you tell if it is a CV or crown wheel blown with out taking it out (1999 IFS hilux with free wheeling hubs) This is for a mates lux

drain oil out of diff if metal in it , its the crown wheel if not maybe cv

Reach under and grab the front axle, and check for play

Or, put it in neutral and try and spin the front prop shaft...
