ive hit the end of the line and decided on a soft top tub for my sierra project right, ive found a WT soft top body, will it fit snug on my NT chassis???
is there any difference between the 2 models?
if its just a bolt on thing then i have a soft top tub for $500 waiting for me.
if not then what needs to be done to fit it on?
cheers, Islandvit

The bodies will swap straight over.
*From memory* there are some small changes to the bumper brackets but they're not significant.
The loom is slightly different though as WT's had EGR and a small box to control it - also a switch for 5th gear to activate EGR.
Might be best to use the NT loom out of your current car, but it should swap pretty much straight over.

"Exhaust Gas Regulator" Me thinks.
That stupid black box under the glove box. It confused the hell out of me when I was using a multi-meter to source an electrical fault 6 months ago.
Also depending on the year of the WT, as to where the side indicators are, if its post '91 then the indicators are behind the wheel-arch and the wires may need relocating. No biggy really.

Exhaust gas recirculation, to reduce emissions on cruise.
Only present on WT's
A few of the carby plugs etc are different on the WT.

IM in NSW but I was thinking of putting a WT soft top cab cut down on my NT ute, but i was told I would have to complie with the ARD's of the later model body to get the car regoed, I never ended up doing it but i dont know if there are many differences anyway!

Yes, if it is a trayback, it's a commercial and has to comply to heaps less ADR's than a "passenger car" which is what 99% of SWB sierras are considered.
THere are lots of differences between what can be engineered between the two (in Vic at least.)
