i just want to do to my zook want to got some prices on mods

(1) the engine (would like more power) think of a
22re motor (not a bad motor in a zook)
v6 commodore motor (got one sitting in the shed)
2.8 hilux motor (think it is to long)

(2) the suspension (want to fit 37") hilux diffs with coil over

Any ideas about the what it would cost for it

I'd reckon a fair bit, plus lots of engineers reports for the extra weight.

buy a hilux you'll end up saving more money that ay.

Why go for a heavy toyota or Holden engine and gearbox etc. A 1.6 Vitara engine with rockhopper gearing will be fine. The whole beauty of the Suzuki is their size and weight if start chucking big V6s etc in you lose more than you gain. gearing is so readily available these days that you don't need a big engine to push big tyres. Look at Sam and his buggy he had a 1.5 (I think) and was pushing 37s and has pushed 42s. Mickbj42 is pushing 38s with a Sierra engine. LJ Extreem 36s with a 1.6.

To get what you want to do will cost $$$$$$$$$ if you need someone to do the the work for you. It will cost a little less if you do it yourself. And a little less if you don't do it properly and get it engineered

I believe Mick is running a vitara carby engine and pushing 37's - however, your point is still completely valid - being lightweight is half the advantage of a suzuki - and a heavy engine will decrease this advantage and will also result in other upgrades to driveline being required.

You guys are forgetting to mention that Sams 42" pushing beast also had forced induction, which by my understanding makes a 1.3 go like a rabbit with crack smoking crabs on its nuts!!!!

So not as valid as first point but still a very reasonable point.

Also those cars mentioned don't spend too much time being used as daily drivers either - so on-road gearing isn't much of an issue for them.
