Hi all
Toyota 60 series or Vitara power steering?
I did some research and found this helpful link
http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/ftopic120110-0-0-asc-.php

I will be putting Hilux diff with high steer and running 33" tyres
My problem is, I have a full Vitara power steer unit but I don't think the box will fit
I have a 1.6 Vitara motor using 1.6 radiator and had to give the sierra box a rub with the grinder to fit ( as seen below )

If I use a 60 series box
1) I will be covering the chassis numbers so they will need to be relocated
Hopefully I will speak to an engineer in a day or two about that
2) would the Vitara pump work ok with the 60 box

If you have come across the same problem which way did you go?
a pic or two would be very helpful too

Thanks Aaron

Its a tight fit but i managed to get the vitara power steering box in there with a 1.6L radiator. Just need to make some custom mounts (as usual)

Did you use a wedge or flat adopter for the vitara box or did you re drill the chassis?

the vit steering box is not big enough mine struggled with 33jt2s in deep ruts, what tyre size will you be running? how much room have u got?

It's not just about the box.

Your best bet locally would be to talk to Damien at Yuri 4x4 about getting yourself a high flowed Hilux steering box and a matching pump.

Or if you only want to run 33" tyres keep your zook diffs and buy some double tough axles, they'll cost you less than the engineering of Hilux diffs under a Sierra.

Hi Bazooked, I am running 33's and as my pic above there is not much room!

Hi James, I did think off the tough axles but I got a set of Hiluxs diff + adopter kit
I will have a look at Yuri site

does anyone have a pic of a Hilux power steer box on on a sierra
