Got a weber 32/36 on a 84 Hilux and wanting to if anyone has done a LPG set on them,Pics would be good

LPG gets mixed into the air intake on carby vehicles.

So it should be a standard gas conversion (might void the good carby though.)

they used to run old XE/XF falcons on lpg AND THEY HAD WEBERS. WORKED GREAT. CANT SEE WHY I WONT WORK ON A hilux

I looked into it awhile back and they said no probs.
Why you got such a small carb
my 38 is on its way back from being sargified that should really scream!

Used to run a weber off a crossflow on my 18r just went to the local lpg installer an bought one of the Amos ring type mixers that bolt to the top of the carby inside the air cleaner
Simple, an ran fairly well, gave the old girl a bit more power than when it had the original carb an gas mixer.

I just bought the Hilux and it already has the weber, it seems to use less fuel so I`ll keep it,It has the square type filter wich goes straight on top and clipped down thats why I`ll ask to get it done

Are you doing this for $$ saving or for better running off road?
With the zuk that only gets driven on weekends I decided it wasnt worth the $ but keep us updated Id like to know how you get on, pics would be great!

im interested in pics too... moreso how tall the LPG setup is... i've had to cut my bonnet Xmembers to fit the weber and filter in! haha

If you use a ford crossflow weber you just need an adapter plate an the original ford aircleaner assembly
The gas mixer bolts inside the aircleaner housing with the original hold down bolts ,you just have to cut a hole in the bottom of housing for gas hose to run through
Works out only marginally higher than the original toyota aircleaner

Any updates? Sarge sent me a pic of my 38 and ported manifold today it looks and is nearly ready but the cost of petrol is making my think twice about putting it on.
It will be flood proof and make more power than the 32/36 but I mighten be able to afford to run it!!

how do you tell what size carby youve got. i know its a webber and i think its costing me alot of petrol.

My 86 model hilux, gets about 300 km out of a 60 litre tank.

if i got a normal carby would it be cheaper on fuel. im running 35 mudzillas by the way.

35" mudzillas... you can't expect much better than the 300km per 60 litres you are getting.. fit a set of HT 7.50r16's on split rims and you'll be amazed at the economy increase.

On the base of the carb there will be some number stamped on, that will tell you the model.
when I got my 32/36 dialed properly it was as good economy as you could get doing 4000rpm at 80-90km/h in 5th!And staying out of the secondaries helped alot too but alot less fun to drive without that weber roar!

Went to find out about gas, told them my zuk is running a weber and they said $2800. They suggested a hat design that sits on top of the carb but it has an open filter. They can also do an inline type that is completely sealed for snorkels etc.
I get my 38 on monday so after I see how it performs I,ll look more into gas, were to but the tank etc.

$2800!?!?!?!?! you can go EFI for that with coin to spare!!!!!!!!

But do you get $2000 back and go from $1.65/lt down 65c/l with efi??
Thats the only reason Im considering it.
