will 11.5 wide tyre's fit

hi i have a 85 N/T zook other than my lift and 31" tyre's its stock
i was thinking of putting 11.5 wide tyre's on and would like to know if it would be fine or is it's going hit on something

11.5 really is too wide for a zuk... its the tyre height you want - ideally i'd run a 31x9.5 over a 31x10.5... i'd rather the tyre cut in and get grip than miander around on top of loose stuff =)
I drove a vitara on 32x12.5's and its wander on road was woeful too.

You'll have clearance problems unless you run wheelspacers/stupid offset etc. It's more feasible on a WT but will still lead to cutting etc.
11.5 is really a bit wide for good performance IMHO unless you're primarily driving high traction surfaces like dry hard dirt and rock.

I've got 32x11.5 bfg muddies on 8" rims with -28 offset and they still rub on the springs at full lock. Dont rub in the guards due to a whole lot of bashing with a hammer and front axle moved forward.
I drive mostly hard dirt and rock so I find them pretty good offroad. Though they do feel a little bit floaty on really loose dirt/rocky surfaces. Onroad I cant fault them, they dont wander any worse than my 9.5" wide tyres.

Sorry for the hijack. I'm in the taller not wider camp too. What are the narrowest tires you guys have come across in 30" or 31"
I've got 225/75R15 Cooper ATR atm and I want to go a higher but if possible no wider than 9". 215/85 15 (TSL S/S radial) looks attractive but only just gets me over 29, ditto simex trekkers (29x7.5 15). They would be a set of spares to go on when playing in the mud.
My other thought is to go to a 16" rim and look at 215/85R16's. That seems to open up the some of the mainstream manufactures. Is this a feasible idea?

I ran 7.50-16's on Vit 16"x6.5" rims on a Vit (no bodylift
) and that was better than the 31x10.5's (with bodylift) I had run before. I actually think that 235/85R16's would be about right.

Offset rims.... cheaper than spacers, that gets the tyre off the chassis. Lift your body a couple of inches.... spring, shackle or body lift... its up to you... shackles cheapest but i would simply find some springs.
tyres will prob still scrub on the fire wall... belt it smooth with a hammer.
The outrigger that holds the front bumper on.... remove bumper and cut them off at the chassis.
You can jam 31's under a nt pretty cheap... lots of ppl dont do any mods and let em scrub.
30's are the go for stocko

I have run 31"X13" BFG Mudders (325/50R15) on my Vitara for a bit and they are awesome. Nothing wrong with running fatties
I also had 32"X11.5" Mudders on a SPOA Seirra a few years back and never had a problem

no there's not.... but have you run skinny tyres with the same tread pattern and same diameter?
I've done the experiment and narrower tyres improve drivability.

Also a 1.3 litre (or even 1.6) is going to struggle more turning a 11.5"+ tyre. running large neg offset rims and spacers put extra pressure on wheel bearings aswell. some things to think about i guess..

i have a set of 31x10.5 in 8 inch rims and a set of 32x10.5 but in a 5.5 inch rim
the 32s, drive SOOO much better on road, then the wider 31s, all the the tyre is the same width, running them on a skinnier rim, makes the tyre skinnier too. maybe give that a go??

suit my driving style & always out drive the bigger rigs with more gadgets !!

Yea am running 255/70R16 now same basic size but now it doesnt look like a steam roller. Still drives about the same, I only went thinner cause its a daliy runner and I was trying to save the bearings from certain death
