Outer Limits 4x4 Board

does anyone know what the thread type is on a m13a oil filter, or any g block for that matter, they all look the same thread to me, i think it is 3/4UNF-16, can anyone confirm this please.

I am pretty sure thats it, what i do know is that a Z9 filter
(common on many old school V8's) fits a G engine.

The z9 filter is nearly double the length of a z125 and ussually cost a little less.

There has been a bit of discussion on Teamswift.net about the benefits, basically it amounted to fewer filter changes as there is more surface area before it gets clogged up and i guess for a 4wd be able to have more oil in the filter in case you on a an angle that starves the oil pick up for a prolonged period of time

Wait... you are getting a Oil cooler aren't you

ive never compared the thread's but a g series engine uses a different filter to a m series engine

you are correct, 3/4 - 16.
if you are after a oil cooler pm me. cheap as.

well yes and no... since it is getting turbo im looking at a oil filter adapter/ sandwich plate to run a oil cooler and feedline.
cheers for the info though about the filter in my years and years of dealing with suzuki i never would have known this.

The bigger filter is a good thing but the filter is after the pump so if the pickup starves for oil the pressure drops immediately no matter how big the filter is.
Z9's don't have a non-return valve fitted... do Z125's ???

is the non return valve a rubber diaphram on the inside of the outer holes?

I have seen z9 filters with those (although the packaging said something more like anti drain back)

I havent seen any of those on suzuki filters and i have used ryco, valvoline and purlator filters (5000km changes sometimes sooner)

I haven't bought a z9 filter yet purely because ocassionaly ebay has bulk sellers. Last time i picked up 6 purlator filters for $25, same filter was approx $13 at supacheap

I am kicking myself that i don't live in melbourne as 4 lots of 50 BOSHI brand filters are going for $23 a lot thats just over 50c a filter.
