Outer Limits 4x4 Board

IM looking to buy some bulk drums of diesel engine oil for my 3l 2.8 Lux.

Its an old car with a turbo and want to hear other thoughts on what oil to use? it will do alot of hwy km's some towing.

Also what did it cost last time you looked?

I was looking at the Castrol GTX Diesel 20L 15w/40
This RRP for $99 ($5 per L) but the guys at super sheap said it will be on special in a few weeks at $79 ($4 per L).

has anyone had good or bad experiences with certain oils?

I use CAT DEO 15w40 as I get it at a good price. When I first starting using it, I got a few small leaks but I was told to expect this. NO major leaks came of it and I am very happy with it. I have no idea what it costs but I can check at work on Monday. It's available in 5L, 20L (tap thread) containers and 1000L bulk.

If it's good enough for million dollar earth moving gear, it's good enough for me.

I used to run GTX diesel in my lux (2.8NA) and i found that at about 4000kms it really started to thicken up badly and you could feel the motor was struggling to run with it- New oil and it wasnt a problem.

Now run Delo Silver or Delo400 in it, and it went to 6200kms without any sign of thickening (was on a trip, didnt get home till 1200 over a service)
