Hi all,
tried searching.. nothing turned up.

My brother has just had a kid and was wanting a couple more doors.
He has a 75 series diesel ute 1991 model. Is it possible to do a body swap with a troopy? How hard is it to swap a petrol troopy body/wiring etc onto the diesel ute?. We are handy with the spanners etc... but Im just not too sure about the wiring/dash part of the job. and also the rear body mounts.
cheers
Hutch

The 3rd row of body mounts are about 30mm out, back from there all the chassis-body mounts are completely different.

The body is all different from the firewall back.

Anything can be done, but it's not a bolt off/bolt on operation unfortunately.

I don't think there's much difference in the chassis otherwise. It wouldn't be TOO hard to cut the mounts off an old troopy chassis and weld them on.

Would probably be easier to buy a tired troopy and swap the ute drivetrain in - but it's hard to find a cruiser that's had the body outlast the drivetrain.

The wiring loom on mine gave me grief. The ute cab was from a 2H engined 75 and mine is a 13bt. Im not sure how youll go with putting a troopy body on a 75.
