M&M Custom Engineering is manufacturing its own Toyota Widetrack Kit.

The Kit includes all necessary high tensile bolts, CNC machined spacers and new hub seals required to fit IFS hubs onto the front of your hilux or cruiser diff. M&M Custom Engineering can also supply the IFS hubs with the kit.

Is anyone interested in a group buy on these?

I will work out some prices for everyone.

The more people that want them the cheaper they will be.

Sounds good :)
For a start can you tell us the normal everyday price you will be selling them for?

I'm interested but I need more information...

These space out your wheels right?

I know spacers arn't legal... but these are hubs from an IFS model?
Does that mean they are legal? If so I'm definatly up for a set... no more rollux.

Excuse the next silly question.... but how do you space the rear wheels?

yeh you use IFS hubs with a spacer which when all bolted up gives you a wider track of 1.5" each side.

dont know if its legal not to worried

for the rear wheels swap in an IFS rear diff...it is wider

YOU IN ??

Yeah the IFS wheel hubs are what give you the extra 1.5 inch width either side the spacers in the kit just space the brake disc back so it lines up with the caliper.
As far as I know they are legal, mickbj42?
And for the rear you need an IFS diff housing and axle shafts.
The IFS rear diff is identical to a solid front hilux (uses same centre etc)except for being 3 inches wider.

I allready have the IFS rear diff and the IFS front wheel hubs caus I have an IFS hilux  but Im going to do a solid axle swap on the front soon hopefully.
Paul.

What's the difference here -> wheels spacer - V.S - IFS hub with a spacer?

I thought it was the IFS hub which made it wider and there for allowed you to have a wider track with out the use of illegal spacers.

I'm trying to do research on it now.
Hopefully I won't have to ask you to many more silly questions.

The widetrack kit uses the IFS hubs to widen the track, the spacer is used to align the disc back up with the caliper.

I will get some photos of the hubs and where everything goes tomorrow, much easier to explain with pictures!

Wheel spacers are illegal, the IFS hub conversion is legal.

Id presume IFS hubs are legal because your actually replacing the whole hub, rather than putting a spacer in and reducing the bolt length on the hubs.

yes it is just changing from a shorter hub to longer one

Got a set of IFS hubs complete minus the locking hubs in the shed for $80 for both if anyone is keen. (Includes brake rotors, calipers etc).

Hey Mick, what rotors do you use ?

by M&M Custom Engineerin
We use the original hilux/cruiser rotors. The ifs rotors are smaller in diameter.

Here are some photos showing how to fit the widetrack kit.

Both hubs have had the discs removed.

Posted: Tue Feb 24, 2004 2:32 pm
by M&M Custom Engineerin
Start off with the bare IFS hub as shown below.

Posted: Tue Feb 24, 2004 2:33 pm
by M&M Custom Engineerin
then you put on the supplied spacer as shown

Posted: Tue Feb 24, 2004 2:35 pm
by M&M Custom Engineerin
then tighten up the 6 allen head cap screws to retain the spacer to the hub.

Posted: Tue Feb 24, 2004 2:38 pm
by M&M Custom Engineerin
the solid axle disc now needs to be bolted to the hub spacer with the 6 hex headed bolts as shown.

Posted: Tue Feb 24, 2004 2:40 pm
by M&M Custom Engineerin
This is the finished hub with solid axle disc.

Now the hub needs to be re-assembled onto the diff just like a standard one!
