frogs carby woes

just thought I'd check the new carby gaskets, for possible cause of idle probs (has been source of probs twice before). Ran great fer two days then played up again..Over xmas was not able to get replacement carby gaskets, so used a piece of gasket paper shaped to fit. It may not have been correct type, as the hot water pipe (that warms carby)was leaking thru to the petrol air mixture (bummer) . Must be a weak point, so for now, just bypassed the hot pipe, and reused gaskets with the addition of gasket goo.(which says not to be used in contact with fuel)..Hopefully new gaskets will cure the prob..There is signs of pitting round the end of the pipe on the gasket surfaces. Probly need more sanding or polishing and correct gaskets.. 1.3 carbs like everything perfect.
Still want EFI, but reality bites, will have to wait. EFI conversion at this time may prevent a few trips over next few months..Frogs smoking is less of a problem, now it running correctly. Will keep this motor alive with thicker oil, and smoke stopper till after Adventure Tour. Then rethink EFI/carby or Swift/Barina engine, need fun and rest now, christover.

I've got a single point ( piss and drible) efi manifold and throttle body from a vitara 16valve 1.6 if thats any use to you. No computer or loom , but thats no big deal. Cost is now down to a single six pack.

May be a good idea, worth a thought..Think my 1.3 head needs head job.
I'm told I can use a 1.6 head on a 1.3, or inlet manifold and etc.
, but I get told lots of things. If my bottom end checks out ok, may put an EFI head on? But that means need high pressure pumps, hoses, maybe surge tanks? Will have to wait. :( thanks , christover
