Allan said it apparently helped him slide the truck forward more onto large rock steps so as his front wheels would then grab and climb up- or something to that effect Jim (approach angle limitations I suppose)
Also he proposed to limit how much he smashed the front of the drop shackles into inanimate objects- not sure on how that went in practice though.
Decent rig though, as strange as the lil' wheels are.

those wheels on the shackles is a great idea - sure it looks odd but its very functional, and simple!

I think Piranha actualy sell them, tho they aren't listed on the web site.

Those might be Calmini but that is not what Piranha are selling. Piranha are selling a very soft, flexible version made in Victoria that can take quite a beating but they are over $700 for a set of four I think and you can buy them as pairs also.
