Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Have a Rangie Classic, 1988 3.5 V8 EFI, Two inch spring lift, 32" Mongrel muddies, rear maxidrive locker set up and an open front.
Spring locators to keep springs where they should be(isn't needed yet) and stock Shockie mounts.
The current Shock Absorbers are quite short really limiting the drop of the axles causing front wheels to lift.

I'm after the longest Shock options with a reasonable price tag and also if possible Brisbane suppliers that know what a lift means regarding shock length :)

Ive tried searching google to find out how shock length is measured from and to but no joy so i can figure how much more travel I want. Im assuming from top and bottom of the cylinders and not the pins/eyes?

Do a search on here, there has been heaps discussed about it. Cheapest way is to use 80series cruiser fronts anr GQ Patrol rears with a pin/eye adapter. Lengths can be found on the Rangie Spares website.

Id try shane at suspension stuff he knows his stuff and backs what he sells give him a call on 0409593414 hes located in loganholm i have a few sets of procomp shockies ive fitted to rangies which give an extra 4 to 6 in of travel in the rear and around an extra 4 in up front and find they work great both on and off road

cheap = pro comp shocks.

As for lengths id say maximum compressed length upfront would be about 380mm and 360mm for the rear. Assuming standard bumpstops and springs allowing full compression.

You should be able to find a 10-11" travel procomp shock to fit front and rear.

I second that, Shane is more than helpful and can point you in the right direction and recently have bought some gear off him and for a bloody good price too.

I was always a bit of a critic of Pro-Comps but til I bought set I can't complain and for the price you can't go too much wrong

Yep well as for shanes service its exelent i spoke to him yesterday about a shockie that was dammaged over the weekend well i just recived the replacement via courier man now thats what i call service

Another vote for Pro Comps...run them in the rear of my Defender 11" travel never had any probs

Also saves the hassle of pin to eye converter just bolt them straight up.

iv had 4" longer than standard bilsteins all round in my 1988 rangie with no dramas, only extended brake lines to suit travel

bilstein are rebuildable, so thats an advantage

for the disco's the standard rear shock length is about 550mm, shuld be the similar as the RRC as they use the same chassis etc

I have just ordered a set of procomps from shane as well. I got the 26.5 inch ones which will give me about an extra 115mm of travel over standard just from the new shocks...not bad for a bolt on thing
