hi, i need to find a better clutch for the GQ. We absoluty destroyed the heavy duty that was in it.. Maybe it was the full power launches on boost with the nitrous kit!!!
Q? is there a better clutch for it than the exedy that everyone runs??? maybe a twin or triple plate organic??

It has to handle 350+RWHP and 40" comp spec tyres?? nothing to much really

any ideas would be great?? otherwise its time for a gearbox change - NV4500 time!!!!

I have an extrem outback clucth in mine. Yes mine is standard (for now) but they have a really good aftermarket range with different combinations of clutches, clamping pressures and so on.

I was chewing excedys organics exactly every 6 months, about 2 months ago I fitted a single plate brass button to see if it lives longer (no idea yet), I too was looking at twin plate organic but cost is phenomenal!!

I have 3 isuzu/nissan hybrid clutchs, they are not a wives tail.

Greg call Doug at Nicks performance clutches 07 3277 9403 beaty rd acherfeild (across the road from haymans electrical), Doug will sort you out with what ever you need.

I used to machine custom flywheels n triple plate clutches for him, they make all their own clutches (designed from scratch), for drift cars, drag cars and military trucks ect.

the turbo conversion was done by us, then the efi was tuned at chapmans and they got 260hp at the rear wheels, we then got it tested on a trusted dyno and it had 240hp, then retuned and got 270hp tubo only, then added a 150hp NOS fogger. only use it at ~75 hp atm. I will get some photos over the weekend.

DGMR
no we have all joined forces, much better for everyone, development / logistics / $$$ and support. Its still micks truck but we try and pinch it from time to time!!! My wife drove it at the battle of the codes. Mick has become a good spotter, so we are lucky any driver/navvy combo is pretty formidable

we have done so much development work on this truck, it has some really cool new bits on it: twin stick t/case, rear disconnect, hydraulic cutting brakes, hydraulicly adjustable air 18" shocks, 3motor low mount winch . . . . .

Give Ontrack in Melb a ring. Andrew should be able to tell you what clutch. As he has used most with the turbo 4.8. Before giving up and fitting the auto.

Not shifting from 2nd to 5th under spray might help the clutch last  :finger:
