You can't get tyres engineered in Qld, all you are allowed is 15mm larger diameter then standard, therefore bugger all.
Spring lift doesn't require approval just adhere to the rules.
Body lift needs to be applied for in writing using the form on this page
http://www.support.transport.qld.gov.au ... ms/QF1854/
before you do the lift (supposed to anyway) and then have the vehicle inspected at one of the Qld Transport test centres, Pineapple St at Zillmere once the lift is done.
If you have any other mods that need approval ie. different seats, fuel tank, engine or even a roll bar that impacts on the seating area they need to be blue plated by an "Approved Person" whom Qld Transport can provide a list. Not all those on the list will do 4x4's though, most are commerical vehicles only and the charges reflect that. Kit Bleakly, Ray Miller are a couple of those that won't want to know you. There is a guy up at Lawnton that will do these sort of things, name slips me now.

Depends what part of Brisbane you're in.
Not all engineers are "Authorised" for all mods, so check with QT for the mods you want to do...
Phil Harris of Carpliance has done a fair bit of work for us, he's south of Beenleigh.

thanks for that. thats poo about not being able to engineer tyres though
on that form its got a space for modified tyres...i suppose they wouldnt let 30's or 31's since 15mm over stock is the max...bugger.
Im not to keen on driving with bigger rubber if i not aloud to, only because i need to drive to get to uni so without my car, i got no transport.
ah this sux

One thing to remember with an engineers cert, it doesnt matter what they say, if the RTA/dept roads or whatever deem the mod illegal then your off the road. Good example is extended shackles. You can get your engineer to sign off on them, but the RTA deem them illegal and you can still get done for them, regardless of engineer certification. I have seen this first hand in NSW, and the way QLD is with mods i dont doubt it may be a issue there.
