80 Series broken crown wheel.

I broke 3 teeth off the crown wheel on my 80 series. Then I started having a problem with low range jumping out of gear when put under extreme loads, i.e bouncing over rocks. Could the broken crown wheel and the pinion gear skipping over the teeth be enough to knock low range out of gear?

pffffftttttt 3 teeth, what a weak effot i broke 9 off mine
but yer sounds like it could cause it
