If the drum brake diff was out of a Leaf sprung ute I would say no. To get one of these diffs side by side with a normal GQ disk diff and you will be amazed at the size difference they are bloody huge. The leaf models had huge drivetrains, even the front diff is a 4 pinion whereas the standard is 2.
Why are you getting that one is it cheap or secondhand?

AFAIK you can fit a H233B drum locker to a disk, but not disk to drum.

Drum locker has a thrust block in it, disk locker does not.

Have no fear. I have an RD24 in my gq with discs, last gq with discs also had RD24 - part was listed on jobsheet as airlocker NIS Y60 Drum Brake!
