gq rhf tyre rubbing on control arm! WHY??

I have a gq wagon with 3" spring lift, 2" body and the castor bushes installed But i still have a problem with my rhf tyre rubbing on the rhf control arm.

I am a bit pusled by this as at full left lock there is no scrubbing but not even at full right lock the rhf tyre is scrubbing..

Any suggestions, could it be that when the last wheel alignment was done that the steering was not centred and then adjusted or are there other things that could be causing this??

Thanks for your help...

could just be that your steering stops have been incorrectly adjusted, or the most common thing is that you bent the right hand steering stop on a pervious outing, have a look at the bolt on the right hand swivel hub that acts as your steering stop

Sounds like the steering stops to me too , Just check you haven't bent the radius arm though , had this happen to me , didn't think you could bend cast iron that far without it breaking , but I have the new arm to prove it.

I would have thought the 3" lift altered the effective length of the drag link which gives more stering one way than the other.

could be the case but lifting a truck i think reduces the turning circle so you would have less chance of rubbing, i still say steering stops

I just finished repairing a busted steering stop bolt causing this exact same problem. Had to tear it all down and pull knuckle. Then drill it in press....replaced with grade 10.8 metric.

Was pretty dirty so cleaned it all and repacked it too! Knuckle stubs on axle end not real smooth so polished them up while at it. Much better now!
