If you look at the simple science of it then as an alternative fuel you can see how it can't work.
As an alternative to LPG injection on a deisel then there is some merit as then it is increasing the efficiency of the engine rather than being a fuel.

The basic problem is it takes more energy to convert water HOO to HHO (or Browns gas). You then have the problem that when you burn a fuel in an engine you get about 20%-40% thermal efficiency so the reality of the situation is that as a stand alone fuel you would recover about 20% of the energy used to create the gas to propel your vehicle!

HHO is no myth. You can build an HHO gas torch to replace an oxy/acetalene plant and it will burn at 2700*. All it is, is a water tank with a large coil inside that you plug in to 230v. The hardest part is ensure you don't get flash back as a normal gas flash back arrester works to slow to stop it. ie this tuff burns incredibly fast. They normally use a water trap to stop it!
