what is the rear over hang of a stock man ute.

i'm waiting to hear back about a stockman thats not been used. i was thinking about putting the hardtop body i have on it and using the back as alittle tray or some thing like that. this car is a few hundred k's away so i can't just go have a look and haven't see any around here to go look at, run a tape over.

i'd end up with a longer wheel base and something a bit out of the norm.

SWB body on a LWB chassis  I don't think so.
Not without a hell of a lot of work.

I was thinking about this the other day, would be uber cool and different. Hard to get into the back though with a tray in front.

i'd work out some way to get in the back. the wheels would end up about where the blue sierra on page 9 of the fav zook thread.

could even do a bit of a strech so no rear chassis hanging out ;)

Another opition id u wanted to keep the hard top and still have a tray,
would be to cut the rear door in half (left to right), along the factory 'crease' line, then weld the bottom half in place and hinge the top section from the roof, so that it wouls have a lift up style rear window,

this is what i was looking at when i had my HT

that is gold!

thanks

just went and had a look at the swb chassis. i'll end up with about the last 350 mm of the chassis out the back. the fuel tank will have to be moved as it will end up half under the body in the stock lwb spot. would put it in front of the diff if i can the axles will end up about where the fuel filler is.

better go talk to my mate and get him to pull his finger out! :)
