Does anyone know of anyone that has put old falcon leafs into the old hilux's? i have heard that the XF era falcon rears will fit back end of a hilux if you move the mounts forward 150mm (i think), just throwing the idea out there as im looking at doin something like this.

cheers

Lol nice, i dont think that mr policeman would like that at all, i was looking more along the lines of leafs tho, but interesting at the least. would be good for comp truck. i wonder if you could get the coil conversion modded at all?

Seen fairly often a few years ago... Falcon, Fairlane, ute, Explorer all similar length but differing centre pin location. They are all a few inches longer than IFS rear.
I have a set of reversed Ford Explorer springs in the back of my dual cab lux they flex OK but ride quite harsh. They have thick leafs but no military wrap spring.

Yeah thats about what i heard, have you tried removing some leafs for a bit more comfort? i dont think the ride in my Ln65 could really get much worse lol, so i reckon its worth a try

I had xd falcon rears in mine a while ago. you need to move the mount forward, and you also need to redrill the centre hole so the diff is in the same spot.
I actually had new main leaves made up, then just re-drilled the rest of them.

The xd uses more thinner leaves, opposed to the AU that has 3 thick leaves, so they are much easier to 'tune' for better ride.

You will aslo need to do a u-bolt flip, as these are 5mm wider springs. I just ground down the width of the eyes so they still fit the hilux mounts.

I would imagine that most leafs from that XD XF sort of era are pretty similar. How far off are the center holes for the diff? How was the flex from these springs?

99% sure my rears are falcon springs thta have been reset higher with the mounts moved foward and the dropies and it's all about playing with the packs to get them right.

these are the springs in the rear of my truck, im running them with 6"shackles, they flex pretty well and ride well on road. my mount is pushed forward to the middle of the rectangle inspection hole.
