Is there anyways known to god of getting the pitman arm of of a non power steer box of an MQ Patrol??
In the end i had to rebuild a steering box i had lying around that was seized cause i couldnt get the pitman arm of the one on my rig so i could swap it for a different one.
At Chaos they used a 2 tonne jack in a pipe bender. Is there an easier way??

 Find a strong puller and attach it and tension it as much as you can before anything brakes. Then shock-heat the pitman arm witha torch, but be careful not to heat too much. The key is to heat it so fast the shaft inside doesn't heat up along with it. That way the hole in the pitman arm should increase a tiny little bit, enough to pull the arm off. And it that isn't enough, slam your largest hammer on top of the puller screw and tension between each blow.
I once yused this approach on a brake drum sittion on a konical axle, the parts flew 2 metres off when it finally loosened, (so stay out of harms way!), but it came off!

Go to a tool shop and get yourself a specialized pitman arm puller. They are better for this job than your normal pullers.
Your local wrecker may lend you one (not likely though) or let you know where to get one.
It is worth IT EVEN IF IT COSTS A BIT

I drank more beer and swore a bit, but finally remembered that some champ showed me how to use the Oxi thats here, ( I was only using a blow torch). I heated it and quenched it and then took the quarter panel off and used a hammer longer than my arm that must way at least 20kgs and belted the Living hell out of it  ( and yeah i remembered the cold water trick when i remember the oxi lesson, thanks ). :D
It came off...... and so did the shoe i was wearing real quick. God it hurts when u hit ur foot with a hammer...... :bad-words:

You may have to press it off on a hydraulic press.
The pitman arm is usually splined but can lock up with age requiring some serious pressure to separate the arm from the rod.
Idler arms are usually a taper fit and can be a real bitch to separate from the bell crank rod.
