Just thought I'd show a few piccies of the arms we have made for Muppet's GU.

He was running the latest GU arms with some laminating plates we cut out, but you know how it is...always want something bigger better stronger faster!

Cas Jones has made new drop boxes to take them with the rear 80 series bush, and Muppet will be running them at the Cliffhanger(just have to make him some spares...not that he will need them......???)

They are set CNC cut from 32mm plate and are set up to run with the drop box with 2 degrees of offset.

Tazza, we cut them out ourseles with our own CNC cutter.

I've got another 6 or so sets cut out, just have to do the machining.

Pop around to Davies Eng in Wood St and have a squiz if you want.

There a copy of Dales arms from Todd Robards Truck!

Apart from the chassis end they almost look as good as BIG O arms

What would they weigh?

32mm plate is serious stuff.

Who gives a shiat, the idea has been floating around for donkey's years. Unless someone has a patent for the design, tough shiat, it's a free for all.

The many different variations on this theme makes the comment irrelevant.

In the comp scene, everyone has variations on every one elses ideas.

After OBC2007, Muppet wanted some bead lock rings cut out and it has grown from there...most of the time he has an idea in his head about what he wants...like someone elses...but different!....and Bigger better faster stronger!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weather it be arms or solid EN25 drag links, they are all one off's to suit the application(and his dodgy measurements lol), and I feel privileged being able to support a local.



Weight???..at a guess about 1/3 heavier...maybe

Its fun that it was only Saturday morning that Muppet had rang me and canceled and order for a set of arms that he had placed a order in for one week after the outback had finished and up until Monday week ago he still wanted them.
And they are the some set up as these arms.

Good to see Muppet is keeping up with his record.

but you are better off to machine some steel out of them to drop the weight, they will add to much weight to the front.
you can just put " speed holes" in them aswell.

well he obviously didnt copy yours then because he doesnt own a set to copy from. They look exactly like Snake Racing arms in there shape, who as far as i am aware have been making them longer than you. "BIG O" arms in my opinion are the best value for money for someone who does not have access to or the skills to make there own.

Like others have said, patent them and sue every bastard copying them, untill then i dont think you really have the right to winge.

They look exactly like Snake Racing arms in there shape, who as far as i am aware have been making them longer than you. If snake racing have been making these arms for more than about 9 years like Dale (2DeXtreme) has then you maybe right there.

Anyone who wants a proven product that does not break or bend requiring a spare to be taken just incase of damaging one then I suggest that you call 2DeXtreme for the real thing. If spare radius arms are required then it's definitely not a proven product. I know I wouldn't want an unproven product on my car at speeds of 150k/hr across rutted paddocks.

My thoughts anyway.

I'm sure if you were in Dale shoes as the manufacturer/designer you would be commenting or suspicious of others making your product too... I'm pretty sure Dale has been making these arms for almost 7yrs. Yes other arms are out there and are designed for customer needs and will continually change but they all have noticeable differences not in performance but in physic. From what I hear Nealo is an innocent victim who has taken a certain persons/clients needs/wants and has manufactured in their favor not realizing what has gone on behind the scenes as there's actually more to the story in a moral sense (not pointing at Nealo)... But I think Nealo has done an awesome job and is very skilled.
Anyway that is just my opinion

Snake have only been doin their arms 5 years at best, the first set of drop arms I saw were 2dextreme and fitted in a winch challenge truck at least 2 years earlier then the snake arms.

Dale uses better materials, and would be the only arms I would use in a high speed event. His prices are very good and his service is second to none.

His products have been tested by some of the best competitors in the hardest conditions and not failed. To order a product and then cancel and have them it copied is not right, and to say patent them or too bad is even worst.

I have nothing against the other manufacturers but I know who I will continue to support.

just for the record, i was not implying dale copied the snake arms, rather the 'new' muppet arms are a copy of the snake ones. the rear diff end bush on dales has a different shape to the snakemuppet/Big O arms.

I still dont have a problem with people making there own arms that do the same job and if competition (between retailers) is not endorsed than the cost of items would just keep going up. At the end of the day the first aftermarket arm is a copy of a factory one with different measurments.

Apologies to you Dale if you have been making them longer than snake, if im wrong i dont mind being corrected but please dont strive for a monopoly on the market.

maybe Cheezy can sue every Tom Dick and Harry who has been making rock sliders that look similar to his then seeing as he was one of, if not the first to market them (not sure if correct but he was certainly one of the first i remember) (me included..hmm and Dale and Buddy and Brooksy and god knows how many other people make them and sell them) although none are really exact copies they all look the same from outside the truck and do the same job

same applies to almost everything in the industry(or life)...people copy other peoples design to an extent because they can see it works and they either cant afford to buy the real thing or want the satisfaction of making their own...its called business and competition..at the end of the day if someone makes something that does the same job as the product you are making for cheaper then maybe you should look at your prices as they are probably extremely too dear..

I run Dales gear an i would recomend it to any one!!!!!!

The help that you get and the gear that Dale builds is the best i have see and used .The grade of steel is a lot better then all the arms out threre so when you are looking at arms on the market look at the grade of steel not the price because at 160km's plus what is a couple of dollers more i won't bet my life on cheap gear. so at the end of the day i what the best on the market " 2DEXTREME " .

Guys who farken cares how good Dales shit is.
This thread is about the arms that Nealo built for muppet. And Jessie brought up something I would be keen to know about. Could they be drilled/holed or what ever the fancy term is. To make them lighter but still retain strength.
Now if Dale or any others wish to answer that bit, well that would be relevant.

I would not drill the arms, if it gets an impact at high speed the holes will act like a crumple zone. It will also give it a shear point (for want of a better term).

Was thinking it could create a weak point just wasnt sure of the physics of it all. Sorta think from those pics of Trophy Trucks how they have the dimple holes in the trailing arms and A frames on the front. But the way they both take susp hits is very different to how I see a front radius arm setup on a patrol/cruiser working.

on the trailing arms they have tube on the bottom and then plate them up. they also trail not lead so the force is alot different.

as the the a arms on the front. check out pirate and desertracerz they have a shitload of tech about A arms including some stuff that baffles me as to how some designs are weak or strong.
