Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi guys just a couple of Q's.
I have a 90 model Mav and have a map light out of a later model car, the Mav has the bolt holes and sits there ok. I just need to find out if the wiring is already in place or will I have to run a wire to it?
I also have a prob with the clock, sometimes its on sometimes its not and when it does come on it shows a different time each time. Whats up with that?

pretty sure that the clock and interior lights are on the same fuse. SO if somewhere along the line someone has done the dodgy and put a switch in straight after the fuse (with the plan of turning the rear interior light on and off from the drivers seat) then the clock would only work when the interior light was on. So your intermittent problem... if the light is set on 'door' then the light and the clock would only operate when doors were open.

haha hope a little of that makes sense - but it is a scenario i have seen before.

I didn't hear from anyone so I ran a new wire to the new map light.
There is no light in the rear only one in the middle which is the standard one, which works as it should.
the clock is still playin up, I'm going to grab another from a wreckers and see if that does the trick. If not I will get rid of it all together, that will fix the prob. LoL

from what i remember the factory clocks have a problem with some of the soldered joints on the PC board, people have fixed them in the past no problems,

Thanks guys, I re soldered all of the clock board and now seems to keep time...
So both probs have been sorted, again thanks.

Didn't happen to get a photo of which joint it was on the clock did ya?

My clock's flaky too, but I'll be buggered if I can see anything dodgy in the solder joins..

Have a look at thru a magnifying glass...once you get a handle on what the joints look like ...the "dry" one will stick out like dog wotsits

Thanks Keith, I hadn't looked that close. They all looked good to the naked eye.

Now I've just gotta pull the bastard of a thing out again..

LoL I just hit em all, couldn't see which one was faulty.
