Thanks Antt!

Damn at that price i think krawlers wouldn't be far from that!!!

I would be interested to see why they cost so much, in the states they seem to be comparable to the Tsl SX's!!!!!!!!!!

Yes i am keen as i have been reading all the post on pirate!

Thety seem to be as TOUGH as the tsl and yet when they heat up ;) they are as sticky as the Bfg krawler!

Pretty good combo!

NOT a real concern for me!

As long as they kick arse on rocks!!

How much did he pay and what size is he running??????

i still havent used mine.

They are 39.5x13.5-15 on the the sidewall and measure exactly 39.5 mounted on an 8inch rim.

They are really soft, they should work awesome on rock!

Krawlers are about $1000 each for 37 on a 17inch rim. What you also have to consider for the krawlers is adding on the cost of a set of 17inch rims.

he's only got 33's on his patrol dunno how much

When I was checking prices on the Krawlers, the best I got was around $900 landed. The real killer (if $900 for a 37" tyre isn't already considered a killer) was the cost of a 17x10 beadlocked rim . . . outa my league

Yeah i'm not really to interested in the Krawler.

The simple reason being i need a tyre that can handle Comp work but also handle the abuse that we dish out on a normal O/L trip!

I think the Krawlers would just get hammered to much and simply won't last, where as the Irok's seem to be stronger!

And i can't afford to have two sets of tyres.

gonna put the irok's on the disco hey? seeing as your selling the boatlux hey? :D :finger:

Don't actually know anyone that has used them but when I was looking the Irok tread was just as soft as the Krawler - you could twist the lugs between your thumb and fore finger so will be interested to see how they actually last in a full comp scene where the tyres get a harder than usual time . . . no point in having tougher sidewalls etc if you've chewed out all of the tread!

All that aside, I think they'd be sticky as all hell on the rocks.

Yes i agree in the Comp sceen i would defently burn down the lugs pretty quick, but when we drive on a normal weekend the rocks seem to be quite harsh and damaging towards tyres.

Where we drive i have destroyed a 38.5 Baja Claw, tore a hole in it about 10 inches long.

So to me sidewall strength is a real issue!

Is that you on the Xtreme Rock Crawling Challenge (Round 1 2003) DVD driving the car on its side along the creek??????

Perhaps if you drive on the tread rather than the sidewalls, sidewall strength won't be so much of an issue :finger:

Hey Butt Craic did you do your tyre comparo at the recent Queanbeyan 4WD show. IF so, I too had a good look at both tyres there.

The Irok felt soft as, and had massive voids between relatively small lugs. The lugs were also sipped. To me the Krawler felt much firmer. But I couldn't do a direct finger squish test, cause it's lugs were so blocky. By just looking and feeling, my conclusion was that for pure stick, the Irok would have the edge.

POS, just get some, then we'll all know how they work.

Carlton, that story you told me of the dude driving up a shipping container, is there some web reference to it .

50% right - I saw the Irok's there, the Krawler's I drooled over last time I was back in Melb when I called in to check out the Procomp store. They only had the 35's but 1 was mounted up and I came close to having my arm twisted to leave the store with them.

read an article in one of the latest yank mags and they reconed that the iroc combined the best qualitys of both the swamper & bogger into the one tyre. had a very good write up.

Mmm at the moment i have narrowed it down to the TSL and the IROK.

Now my only way of thinking is PRICE!!!

I am waiting for a price on the 39.5 Irok and if its heaps more that the TSL than the TSL it is, however if its only slightly more than i will have to look into it further!

why the change from claws?

I'm happy with my 39.5 TSL's. Teh sidewalls have copped a fair schlackin and are holdin up well & they grip pretty well on the rock when let down.

They've seen a bit of road use now also and handle well and dont seem to be wearing that bad either.

From what i've read tho, the IROK's are much stickier on rock compared to the TSL and they look a bit of alright too.

No i think they are a super tyre!

In fact they are probably the best bang for ya buck when it comes to a BIG tyre!!!! (they are nearly the same size as a 42 tsl, but $300.00 cheaper) Bloody good value!

They are super strong and excellent grip on the rock!

The only reason i am getting ride of everything Inclding the Claws is that they are TOO BIG and WIDE for what i want and they are TOO HEAVY!!!!!

If i was building something like the Mogrover or the POS again i would defently get the CLAWS!!!!
