If you use it on your race helmets/bike helmets, person to person its wireless/bluetooth connection.

If someone calls your mobile, you can have your BlueAnt connected via bluetooth on your mobile) and answer your phone that way without picking up your mobile. Or visa versa... you dial someone with your mobile, but use your BlueAnt to speak through so you don't carry your mobile while driving/riding...
I'll PM you a price....

this blueant gear is great, i was thinking about getting it for my bike helmet

then we got talking with onee of my riding buddy's and realised that the only time we are truly clear of all the shit in the world is when we are riding, why would we want phonecalls and idle banter to disturb the peace.

so if you a rider, and you want one of these devices, think again.. :)

at one stage our club had intercoms when on touring weekends it was an advantage sometimes to say when people need fuel, or when theres cops, or if someone knew a better back road to take, but the phone was never that important.

Very true, but BlueAnts purchased by ppl who 4wd or Dirtbike riders 'don't' buy them to be able to use their phone with it. I see no point in that.

Motorbike riders should use them to communicate as a safety reason (if that's what you want them for) like our kids do when they ride their motorbikes. They ride off now and I know if one of my boys don't answer back to his brother, his brother knows something may be wrong and will go back and find him.

We had an instance where one of the boys crashed and his brother kept going, came back to camp and 'then' realised his brother wasn't behind him.

isnt it only a 10m metre range?

10m for comms to the phone as that is ussally the phone range but with head set to headset it is around 150 metres.

If it's range you need, these are the units we import from Eartec in the US,
http://eartec.com/Wireless%20Wired/24g.html
The 24G is the updated version of the Round Eyes system rock crawlers use exept they opereat on the 2.4 giga hz frequency so there is no licensing problems in Australia.
Our packs com with a hard plastic case with 2 radios, 2 chargers, 2 batteries, 2 headsets (and different headsts are available at time of order) and instructions too. You can add extra radios in at a later date too if you wish.
These radios are becoming increasingly popular in winch challenge events too.
